BALTIMORE-- The UMBC women's soccer team kicks off the 2022 campaign with a pair of road games, including the season opener at George Washington on Thursday, August 18.
After traveling to Farmville, Va. to complete a home-and-home series with Longwood on Sunday, Aug. 21, the Retrievers open the home slate versus Wagner on Thursday, Aug. 25. Kick-off is set for 6:00 p.m. at Retriever Soccer Park. UMBC will head back to Virginia two days later to face VMI in Lexington, then hosts Delaware State and LIU on Thursday and Sunday, Sept 1 and 4.
The Retrievers replicate their Thursday-Sunday America East schedule one more time in the non-conference portion when they face Marist in New York and Robert Morris in Pennsylvania on Sept. 8 and 11. UMBC concludes the non-conference portion of the schedule by hosting local foe Towson on Thursday, Sept. 15 at 7:00 p.m.
"Our fall non-conference slate features some of our home-home series returns as well as a few new opponents," said Head Coach
Vanessa Mann. "We are excited about the opportunity to play some strong opponents during the non-conference that we will look to use as a platform to make a strong push within our America East conference slate."
Mann's squad opens America East play at defending champion Vermont on Sunday, Sept. 18. They kick off league competition at home the following Sunday, Sept. 25, when Maine visits RSP. The Retrievers play three of the next four conference games on the road, including a first-ever match versus America East newcomer Bryant in Smithfield, R.I. on Sunday, Oct. 2.
UMBC concludes the regular season at home with matches versus New Hampshire (Sun., Oct. 23) and Binghamton (Thurs., Oct. 27).
The America East Women's Soccer Championships are slated to commence on Sunday, Oct. 30. Â
