BALTIMORE– UMBC track and field returns to action this Saturday when they travel to the Hopkins/Loyola Invitational. The meet is one of the last two meets before the America East Championships in May.

Last Time Out (Bucknell Outdoor Classic):
- Toren Burr finished ninth in the javelin with a toss of 59.45m. He had the highest finish of any Retrievers on Friday.
- Jameer Robinson also competed in the javelin, taking 21st with a toss of 52.36m.
- Ibrahim Khairat rounded out the field competitors with a 14th place finish in the long jump at 6.82m.
- On the track, Mack McKeever and Zachary Tayor finished 20th and 22nd respectively in the 1,500m unseeded race. McKeever finished in a time of 3:57.83 while Taylor crossed the finish line in 3:58.28.
- Cameron Hindle took 21st in the 5,000m invitational with a time of 14:34.57.
- Sam Brosh rounded out the runners taking 17th in the 1,500m invitational race with a time of 3:49.86.
- Khairat finished second in the triple jump with his best jump coming at 15.02m.
- Toren Burr also had a top ten finish in the field, taking eighth in the hammer throw with a toss of 55.32m.
- Michael Arnold and Shavar Staats led the charge on the track. Arnold took fifth in the 400m hurdles with a time of 55.20 while Staats took seventh in the 100m in 10.69.
- Marquis Miller and Brian Nelson finished ninth and 13th in the 200m with times of 22.08 and 22.33.
- Nelson also turned in a time of 10.99 in the 100m.
Last Year at Hopkins/Loyola:
- Jameer Robinson and Taylor Baranoski each earned individual gold to lead the Retrievers on the final day of the Hopkins/Loyola Invitational.
- Robinson earned gold in the javelin with a toss of 52.90m. Ian Hoffman was just behind him in third at 35.99m while also taking second in the pole vault at 4.05m. Alexander Ianniello placed third in the pole vault at 3.75m.
- Alonzo Coleman in the long jump (5th, 6.25m), Andrew Haberman in the shot put (2nd, 14.28m), and Maurice Johnson in the discus (3rd, 39.86m) rounded out the top field athletes.
- Baranoski led the Retrievers on the track with his first-place finish in the 1,500m with a time of 3:52.27. Sam Brosh and Joel Evans also placed in the event in fifth (3:57.26) and seventh (3:59.97) respectively.
- Zach Taylor and Chris Thoms went four-five in the 3,000m steeplechase with times of 9:45.14 and 9:58.08. James Dennison took fourth in the 5,000m in 15:07.30 to round out the distance events.
- Jayo Adegboyo placed in a pair of sprint races taking fifth in the 100m (11.06) and ninth in the 200m (22.43). Darius Adams and Taheer Pierce also placed in those events with Adams taking eighth in the 100m in 11.17, and Pierce finishing fourth in the 200m in 22.02.
- Other top Retrievers included Nathan Trowell-Lopez in the 800m (8th, 1:59.99), Peter Antonetti in the 800m (9th, 2:00.19), Tyler Dregely in the 400m (9th, 51.35), and Lamine Fofana in the 400m (10th, 51.95). The 4x100m relay and 4x400m relay teams each took second with times of 42.64 and 3:23.45 respectively.
