Burlington – Host Vermont hit over 54 percent from the floor and knocked down 12 treys as the Catamounts improved to 22-5 overall and 15-1 in America East play with an 86-59 win over UMBC at Patrick Gym.

Keondre Kennedy (Atlanta, Ga.) led the visitors with 13 points, while junior guard
Matteo Picarelli (Milan, Italy) came off the bench to score a career-high 10 points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Retrievers stayed in touch with Vermont through the first eight minutes, as a Kennedy floater brought the guests to within 15-12 at the 12:27 mark. But a 10-2 Catamount run boosted the lead to 25-14 three minutes later.
- Vermont finished the half on a 13-4 run to lead 46-27 at halftime.
- The Catamounts extended the lead to 20-plus in the early stages of the second half.
UMBC heads back on the road when they face Hartford on Wednesday.
