Women's Basketball Ready For Rematch at Stony Brook

After falling to first place Stony Brook on Monday night in Baltimore, the UMBC Women's Basketball team hits the road for a rematch with the Seawolves on Long Island on Wednesday night. Tip-off is scheduled for 7 p.m., and fans can watch on ESPN+ or SNY on cable. 

Scouting the Retrievers:
  • The UMBC Women's Basketball went into the half tied, but first place Stony Brook (21-3, 12-2 AE) pulled away in the second half to defeat the host Retrievers, 64-48, on Monday night at The Peake.
  • Graduate student Janee'a Summers (Bound Brook, N.J.) paced the UMBC offense with 16 points, hitting four of six from deep, while Jatarrikah Settle (Frederick, Md.). finished with 10 points.
  • Freshman Laycee Drake (Hancock, N.Y.) tallied a career-high nine points in the contest
Scouting the Seawolves
  • Graduate forward Leighah-Amori Wool led all scorers with a season-high 23 points
  • India Pagan finished with 14 points and added 10 rebounds to secure her fifth career double-double and second on the season
  • Senior guard Anastasia Warren filled the stat sheet for the Seawolves chipping in 12 points and grabbing a season-high nine rebounds.
  • The starting lineup of Gigi Gonzalez, Earlette Scott, Warren, Wool, and Pagan improves to 18-1, the most wins from a starting five lineup since the 2019-2020 season.

  • Stony Brook leads the all-time series, 24-15
