Women's Basketball Welcomes UMass Lowell to The Peake on Saturday Afternoon

Riding a two-game winning streak, the UMBC Women's Basketball team welcomes UMass Lowell to Baltimore for a 3:30 tip-off on Saturday afternoon. Fans can watch the game on ESPN3.

Scouting the Retrievers:
  • Onome-Juliet Esadah (Warri, Delta State, Nigeria) calmly buried a pair of free throws with 14 seconds left to push the lead to three as the UMBC Women's Basketball team won its second-straight, 51-48, over host Hartford on Wednesday night.
  • Loan-Anh Johnson (Wichita, Kan.) stole the ball on Hartford's final possession to seal the win.
  • Janee's Summers (Bound Brook, N.J.) paced the Retriever offense with 13 points and nine rebounds
  • Esadah finished with 12 and eight off the bench.
  • The win was UMBC's second straight win at Hartford, but it still has a 4-14 record when playing on the Hawks home court.
Scouting the River Hawks
  • The UMass Lowell women's basketball team (7-11, 4-5 AE) fell 69-65 to Stony Brook (20-2, 11-1 AE) in a thriller at the Costello Athletic Center on Wednesday night.
  • Senior Kharis Idom (Orlando. Fla.), junior Denise Solis (Windsor, Conn.), and sophomore Jaini Edmonds (Worcester, Mass.) scored 12 points each to lead the River Hawks.
  • Junior Kaylen Banwareesingh (Bronx, N.Y.) added seven points and team-high six boards.
  • UMass Lowell picked up a season-high 19 offensive rebounds on Wednesday night and out-rebounded Stony Brook 34-29. The River Hawks shot 35.5% from the field and 34.8% from behind the arc.

  • The River Hawks took a close 76-72 decision in Lowell on 1/17
  • Solis led UML with 15 points, while sophomore Jaini Edmonds added 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting
