Box Score BALTIMORE - The last time the UMBC women's soccer team stepped onto the field was on Halloween, 2019. The only thing that hasn't changed in the last 486 days is the weather. Through a rain-soaked afternoon, the Retrievers and the Towson Tigers drew 0-0 in double overtime for their season openers on Sunday afternoon.

STRAIGHT FACTS
Erin Stevenson (Sellersville, Pa.) and Meghan McKye (Toronto, Ontario, Canada) gave UMBC its best looks early on in the first 25 minutes of the first half.
Towson took its first shot in the 34th minute with Jade Wilkins (Stoney Beach, Md./The Catholic High School) making the save to keep the score knotted at 0-0.
Christina Corbi (Medford, N.J.) put one final shot on goal in the first period into the hands of the Towson keeper.
The Tigers looked to capitalize early in the second period but were unable to connect with the net. Julianna Rafaniello (Old Bridge, N.J.) and Corbi looked to do the same for UMBC but also found no luck.
Towson missed a penalty kick opportunity in the 87th minute to win the game but instead sent the game into overtime.
Each team put two shots on goal during each overtime period, with the goalkeepers making the saves.
