The UMBC Volleyball team went toe-to-toe with the third-ranked Pitt Panthers (27-3) before ultimately falling 3-0 (25-23, 25-13, 25-18)
Loren Teter (Redondo Beach, Calif.) had match-best 14 digs to finish her career with a total of ,467 career digs, with 773 of them coming in just 46 matches as a Retriever. Her 525 digs this season were the third-most in a single season in program history and the most since rally scoring started in 2001.
Grace Rigsbee (Suwanee, Ga.) had a team best 11 kills in her final match with the Retrievers.
America East Championship Most Outstanding Player Andjelija Draskovic (Vrnjacka Banja, Serbia) had 23 assists and 10 digs for her fourth straight double-double, she finished with 16 double-doubles on the season.
Mila Ilieva (Vidin, Bulgaria) had five kills, Aysia MIller (Mililani, Hawaii) had four kills and four digs and Beste Ayhan (Istanbul, Turkey) had three kills and five blocks. Mia Bilusic (Zagreb, Croatia) had seven kills, six digs and two blocks. Kayla Tomas (Silver Spring, Md.) added two digs and an assist.
HOW IT HAPPENED

- UMBC (19-12) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first set and kept it close until a 7-2 run put the hosts ahead 15-10 at the first media timeout.Â
- UMBC would close to 21-20 and force a PItt timeout before the Panthers would extend the lead to 24-21.Â
- The Retrievers again closed the deficit to one at 24-23, but the hosts took the set.
- Pitt jumped out to a 8-0 lead in the 2nd set and never looked back en route to a 25-13 win
- The third set was back-and-forth until Pitt used run to push out to a 17-10 lead
- UMBC closed the gap to 19-16 to force the hosts to call a timeout
- The Panthers would again pull away to take the set, 25-18
