Box Score

Lowell, Mass. -- Host UMass Lowell used a five-run fourth inning to get past the UMBC Softball team, 9-3, on Sunday morning.

With the win, the River Hawks (23-14, 11-0 AE) completed the weekend sweep and remained undefeated in league play.

UMBC (23-18, 4-7 AE) dropped its fifth straight conference game, all on the road, but this being the first by more than one run. Anna Lonchar (Bristow, Va.) and Courtney Coppersmith (York, Pa.) each had multi-hit games for the Retrievers. Lonchar, Julia Keffler (Huntingtown, Md.) and Logan Hawker (Mechanicsville, Md.) all drove in runs in the game, while Sierra Pierce (Youngstown, Ohio) and Kaly Winslow (Leesburg, VA.) also picked up hits.

UMBC returns home on Wednesday for a single game against America East rival Stony Brook. The Seawolves took the first two games of the series on Long Island two weeks ago by identical 2-1 scores. First pitch is slated for 1 p.m.
