Box Score BALTIMORE - The UMBC women's lacrosse fell to the second-ranked Maryland Terrapins, 18-1, on Wednesday afternoon.
STRAIGHT FACTS
-Maryland opened the game on a four-goal run before Payton Van Kirk fed a pass to Brittany Levine to cut the Terps' lead to 4-1 with 14:21 remaining in the first half.
-The Terrapins rattled off five more goals to take a 9-1 advantage into halftime.
-Kelsey Weishaar, Lily Kennedy, and Zoë Pekins each were able to get shots off for the Retrievers before halftime, but all were saved by Maryland.
-In the second half, the Terps scored nine more goals before the final buzzer.
-UMBC's only shot in the second period came at the 4:07 mark when Catherine Sims sent the ball wide of the net.
