Baltimore, Md.— UMBC men's soccer remained unbeaten on the year with a 3-0 victory against College of Charleston on Friday night. The Retrievers used a pair of first half goals, surviving a two and a half hour lightning delay to cruise to victory.

How We Got Here:

• Pulliam got the scoring started in the 10^th minute, slotting home a pass from Jackson Becher (Hummelstown, Pa.) into the bottom left corner.
• Charleston had a good chance in the 21^st minute, as Rio Murray took a through ball in on Ciaran O'Loughlin (Birkenhead, England), but Ciaran made a diving stop to keep UMBC in front.
• The Retrievers added to their lead just minutes later with Kyle Saunderson (Laurel, Md./Reservoir) getting on the other end of a Cesare Marconi (Loano, Italy) cross, heading home the pass in the 25^th minute.
• After a nearly two-and-a-half-hour delay, the game restarted with UMBC leading 2-0 with 19:30 left in the first half.
• Both sides went back and forth in the second half, with both sides having good chances on goal.
• James Gielen (Edgewater, Md./DeMatha) converted a penalty kick in the 83^rd minute to seal the victory after a handball in the box.

By The Numbers:

• O'Loughlin made three saves in his second shutout of the year. He has played every minute for the Retrievers in net this year.
• College of Charleston outshot the Retrievers 9-8 in the contest, putting up six shots in the first half.
• This is the first time since 2013 that the Retrievers have started the season with three wins.
