Men's Basketball Completes Four-Game Roadie at Central Connecticut on Wednesday

UMBC will play their fourth consecutive road game at Central Connecticut State (1-7) at Detrick Gymnasium on Wednesday, Dec. 10. The contest will tip off just after 7:00 p.m.in New Britian, Conn. Live stats, the video and audio links are available at www.umbcretrievers.com or NEC Front Row.

 

RETRIEVER UPDATE:  UMBC is coming off of a 77-47 defeat at the hands of Iowa on Saturday. The Retrievers were led by Cody Joyce, who scored nine points against the Hawkeyes. Will Darley had his best game of the season, pouring in seven points to go along with eight rebounds. UMBC is led by Wayne Sparrow (9.8 ppg), who is one of three Retrievers averaging nine points or better. Joyce (9.3) and Rodney Elliott (9.0) are the other two. Elliott, the 2014 America East Rookie of the Year, will miss the remainder of the season, due to shoulder surgery.

 

BLUE DEVIL UPDATE:  Central Connecticut State (1-7) got their first win of the 2014-15 season this past weekend at America East foe Hartford by a score of 56-47. The Blue Devils were led by Brandon Peel's double-double. Peel recorded 16 points and 16 rebounds in the win against the Hawks. CCSU held Hartford to just 28.8% from the floor in the win.

 

WHO'S UP NEXT: UMBC will return home against Longwood on Sunday, December 14. The matchup with the Lancers begins at 5:00 p.m. at the RAC Arena.
