CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – UMBC women's soccer's junior goalkeeper Jen Nance (Millersville, Md./Severna Park) was named one of nine nominees for the annual America East Fans' Choice Player of the Year award. Voting for the honor can be done on the America East Facebook page, beginning Thursday, Oct. 23 and running through Tuesday, Oct. 28 at noon.

Nance took over as the Retrievers' starting goalkeeper this season after the graduation of the program's all-time saves leader Lauren Kadet. The Millersville, Md., native has not skipped a beat, registering the program's single-season shutout record in her first year as a starter with a league-best eight blank sheets. Nance has also earned herself national rankings in save percentage (23rd, 87.2) and goals against average (29th, 0.62).

Nance has started all 16 contests in net and has helped the Retrievers post its second 10-win season under third-year head coach Leslie Wray. She has allowed just 10 goals on the season and has made 68 stops.
