Drexel Trips Up UMBC Women's Soccer, 1-0

PHILADELPHIA – UMBC women's soccer fell 1-0 to Drexel in Monday afternoon's non-conference matchup at Vidas Field. The Retrievers surrendered the lone goal of the contest with 24:46 left to play in the contest.

The Dragons picked up the victory in their home-opener to improve to 3-1 on the season, while UMBC drops to 0-3-1.

Drexel's Jourdan Halasz found a wide open Lauren Stoller in front of the net. Stoller dribbled the ball inside the six-yard box and beat goalkeeper Lauren Kadet (Oakville, Ontario/St. Thomas Aquinas) one-on-one, placing the ball inside the left post.

Kadet (0-3-1) finished the afternoon with nine saves, as the Dragons outshot UMBC 21-2 in the contest. Drexel net minder Eve Badana (3-1) made one stop in the game.

The Retrievers continue their four-game road trip at St. Peter's College on Friday, Aug. 27 at 4 p.m.
