Box Score

WASHINGTON, D.C.The UMBC women's soccer team (1-3-1) dropped a 1-0 decision to George Washington (1-2-0) Friday afternoon at the Colonials' Mount Vernon Field.

In the 33rd minute, GW midfielder Molly Bruh sent a corner kick into traffic in front of the goal, and forward Claire Haft knocked it into the back of the net.

The goal stood up for the remainder of the match, as the Retrievers managed just two shots, including one on goal by sophomore forward Rachel McKee (Ellicott City, Md./Mount Hebron), which found the hands of Colonial keeper Bridget Mahon.

UMBC freshman goalie Lauren Kadet (Oakville, Ontario/Sir Thomas Aquinas) made five saves for the Retrievers, who were outshot 8-2.

The Retrievers return home on Wednesday, Sept. 8, for the first time in two weeks when they host Delaware.
