TOWSON, Md.--The UMBC volleyball team dropped a hard-fought four
set match to local rival Towson, 3-1, Tuesday night. With the loss,
the Retrievers drop to 4-10, while the Tigers improved to 12-6.
The Retrievers jumped out to a one-set lead after winning 28-26,
despite having four fewer kills than Towson 12-8. For the match,
the Tigers led in kills, 46-37, and digs, 65-51.
Junior Iman Kennedy
(Charlotte, N.C./Independence) led UMBC with nine kills, while
senior Sabrina Hoeks
(Olympia, Wash./AG West Black Hills) missed her seventh straight
double-double by one kill, finishing with nine kills and 11
digs.
The Retrievers begin America East play Friday night as they play
host to Albany at 7 p.m.
