Six Score in Double Figures as Men's Basketball Routs New Hampshire, 79-50

De La Rosa hit eight of 12 shots from the floor, six of seven from the stripe and added seven assists.   

Sophomore wing Chauncey Gilliam (Columbia, Md.) and freshman wing Brian Neller (Red Bank, N.J.) scored 11 points each, while junior post Robbie Jackson (Aberdeen, Md.), senior wing Matt Spadafora (Richboro, Pa.), and freshman wing Shawn Grant (San Jose, Calif.) scored 10 points apiece.

The Retrievers were red-hot in the first half, hitting 16 of 24 shots from the floor (66.7 percent) and six of eight from behind the arc. Leading 13-11 at the 14:28 mark, De La Rosa sparked a mammoth 24-8 run to give the visitors a 37-18 advantage with 4:13 remaining in the half.  In their highest-scoring first half of the season, UMBC led by as many as 20 points at 44-24, before settling for a 44-26 lead at intermission. ­­­­­­­­­

The Retrievers scored the first 13 points of the second half to lead, 57-26, with 15:28 to play and went on to their largest margin of victory in 118 America East contests.

UMBC outrebounded UNH, 43-33, outboarding an opponent for the first time in league play this season.

Gilliam posted his first double-double of the season and third of his career with 10 rebounds and scored in double figures for the 12th consecutive game. Jackson added  eight rebounds and four blocked shots.
