ALBANY, N.Y. - The UMBC volleyball team fell to Albany, 3-0, Friday afternoon in America East Championship semifinals in Albany, N.Y. With the loss, the Retrievers fall to 13-13 on the season, while the Great Danes improved to 21- 8.

The Retrievers were outhit .178 to -0.038 and out-aced 10-2 as the Great Danes went on to win 25-19, 25- 17, 25-11.

"We did a good job of blocking, but ultimately we struggled to put the ball away and it was one of our weaker hitting performances of the season," head coach Ian Blanchard said. "But a lot of our young players gained valuable experience and we have a bright future ahead."

Sophomore Alyssa Lang (Richmond, Va./Deep Run) led the team with 11 digs, while sophomore Iman Kennedy (Charlotte, N.C./Independence) had six blocks.
