Box Score STONY BROOK, N.Y. - The UMBC volleyball team fell to Stony Brook, 3-0, in the second match of a home-and-home series Sunday afternoon. With the loss, the Retrievers fall to 12-9 on the season and 4-2 in America East play, while the Seawolves improve to 11-11 overall and 3-3 in conference play.
The Retrievers were outhit .250-.167 as the Seawolves hit 10 more kills, 48-38, to win 25-20, 26-24, 25-21 and avenge UMBC's 3-0 win Friday night in Baltimore.
Senior Ashley Oscars (Bakersfield, Calif./Liberty) led the Retrievers with her team-high seventh double-double of the year, hitting 12 kills while earning 11 digs.
UMBC returns to action Friday, when they play host to Hartford at 7 p.m. at the RAC. Earlier in the season, the Retrievers defeated the Hawks, 3-1, at Hartford.
