MEN'S SOCCER BATTLES HOWARD TO 0-0 OVERTIME DRAW

Washington, DC--Despite carrying the play for nearly all of the contest, the UMBC men's soccer team (4-3-2) played host Howard (0-6-1) to a 0-0 overtime tie at Greene Stadium. The same two teams also posted a 0-0, 110-minute deadlock last October at UMBC Soccer Stadium.

UMBC extended its unbeaten streak to four (3-0-1) and improved to 4-1-2 in its last seven outings.

UMBC freshman netminder Steve King recorded his second straight shutout in his second collegiate start. He has not allowed a goal in 203 minutes of action.

The Retrievers had several excellent opportunities to score. Junior forward David Feazell failed to capatalize on a one-on-one chance, junior midfielder Kevin Mezzadra hit the crossbar in regulation, and senior fullback Marcus Gross hit the post in overtime.

UMBC returns to league play when they entertain Albany on Saturday at UMBC Stadium (1pm).
