WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS AT OLD DOMINION, 3-0

NORFOLK, VA (Sept. 5, 2004) –The Old Dominion women's soccer team won their second straight game Sunday afternoon, defeating UMBC 3-0 at the ODU Soccer Stadium. Laura Beeman had two goals and an assist in the win. Meredith Worsley also had a goal in the effort. ODU improves to 2-1 for the season, while UMBC falls to 1-2.

Laura Beeman scored first for the Lady Monarchs, connecting with the goal from about 10 yards out, 9:55 into the game. She was assisted by Beth Messier. Nearly 10 minutes later, Meredith Worsley scored for ODU, off an assist by Beeman. With just 8:57 remaining in the game, Laura Beeman scored again, off an assist by Kim Snyder.

Senior goalkeeper Stephanie Miller picked up her second shutout of the season, making four saves for the game. ODU held a 11-7 shots advantage, while UMBC held the 4-3 edge in corner kicks.
