WOMEN'S SOCCER FALLS TO DELAWARE, 3-0

, Del. – The University of Delaware women's soccer team (4-1-2) defeated UMBC (3-3) by a final of 3-0 on Friday night at Delaware Mini-Stadium. The Retrievers were out shot in the game by a 20-3 margin as they fall to .500 on the year.

Allison Kendro got things started for the Blue Hens as she took a cross from freshman Lindsay Boyd and placed the ball in the back of the net. Kendro's goal was her first of the season and came 26 minutes into the game.

Less than ten minutes later, the Blue Hens struck again, this time it was freshman Katie Beekman taking a cross from senior Christina Martinik for the second goal of the game. The goal was the first of Beekman's collegiate career.

Delaware finished out its scoring on the night with six minutes to go, as Beekman struck for her second goal of the game. Retrievers' goalie Robin Babaris made the save on Martinik only to have the ball deflect out and onto Beekman's foot.

Babaris made five saves in her 90 minutes of action for the Retrievers who will be back in action at home Sunday against Delaware State at 1 p.m.
