The Pittsburgh Women's Soccer team defeated visiting UMBC, 3-1, Saturday at Founders Field in Indianola, Pa.
The Panthers' offense scored goals in the ninth and 33rd minutes, but the Retrievers would get on the board with a penalty kick from Missy Moore in the 71st minute of play. However, Pitt got an insurance goal several minutes later to preserve the win.
Pitt outshot UMBC, 10-8. The Retrievers fell to 0-2 on the young season.
