WOMEN'S SOCCER ENDS SEASON WITH 2-0 LOSS TO FDU

Baltimore, MD—The Knights would take an early 1-0 lead as freshman midfielder Debra Flynn (Plymouth, MA/Plymouth North) found teammate Kelly Geraghty (Elmont, NY/Sewanhaka) on the left side for a 30-yard shot that would glide just above the head of UMBC netminder Robin Babaris (Ontario, Canada/Sir Oliver Mowat).

Both teams remained silent until the 74:20 mark, when Knight freshman Ana Moniz (Bridgewater, MA/Bridgewater Raynham Regional) broke away to feed junior Amber McCullough (Forked River, NJ/Monsignor Donovan) at the top of the box for an insurance goal.

For the game, FDU outshot UMBC, 9-6, and recorded more corner kicks, 2-1.

UMBC's match with Quinnipiac, which was previously scheduled for November 3, has been canceled, thus making tonight's 2-0 loss the Retrievers' final game of the season.

UMBC (5-11-1, 2-6-1 NEC) competed the 2002 season this evening, falling to Northeast Conference rival Fairleigh Dickinson (8-7-1, 6-2-1 NEC), 2-0 at the UMBC Stadium.
