Redshirt senior Lyna Beraich is the UMBC Athlete of the Week after she blazed her way to First Team All-Conference honors, finishing fifth overall in a blistering 17:35.5, just thirty seconds behind champion Mary-Kate Finn (UMass Lowell) at the America East Cross Country Championships on Friday. Beraich's accomplishment is historic, making her the first Retriever in a decade to earn First Team recognition, following in the footsteps of Sophie Cologer in 2016. Alex Hyland previously set the program record with a third-place finish in 2007.
