Zach Woodard joined the UMBC strength and conditioning staff in October 2021 as an assistant sports performance coach. He will work with the Retriever men’s soccer, softball, women’s and men’s swimming and diving and women’s and men’s cross country squads and assist with other teams as necessary.
Woodard had served at Towson University since September 2019 as an intern strength and conditioning coach. Previously, he was the head strength and conditioning coach at Hobart & William Smith Colleges from 2016-18, overseeing the training programs for all 22 sports, including Division I lacrosse.
Previous to Hobart & William Smith, Woodard was at Buffalo State College as an assistant strength and conditioning coach, working primarily with men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s swimming & diving, women’s lacrosse and women’s ice hockey.
While completing his graduate degree at Springfield College, Woodard worked from September 2014 to May 2015 at Western New England University as an assistant strength and conditioning coach.
He graduated from SUNY Cortland, receiving a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology-fitness development in 2013. He earned his Master’s Degree in strength and conditioning at Springfield College in 2015.
