Reynolds is in her fifth year at UMBC and currently serves as the assistant director of sports medicine and the primary athletic trainer for the men’s basketball program. She is also a co-advisor for The Retriever Project, a mental health initiative within the student-athlete community at UMBC.

After completing her master’s degree, Reynolds completed a seasonal internship at the University of Louisville, working with the women’s volleyball and women’s lacrosse teams, as well as football and track and field. She began her career as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2014, working with the women’s volleyball team.

Reynolds earned her master’s degree in kinesiology with a concentration in athletic training. She fulfilled her thesis requirement by performing a study in student-athletes with the sickle cell trait, evaluating their oxygen levels at different altitude environments. In addition to being a board certified athletic trainer, Sam is also a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, and has a certification from Precision Nutrition.

A 2014 graduate of West Virginia University, Reynolds earned her bachelor’s degree in athletic training, with a minor in sports psychology.
