Kristi Ward joined UMBC Athletics in May 2024. She spent the nearly three previous years as a consultant for the executive search firm of Avery Associates based out of California.
Prior to that she was an events coordinator for the city of San Jose and worked in various roles for Continental Event & Sports Management from July 2010 to December 2018. There, she started as the Sponsorship & Marketing Coordinator/Manager, before becoming the Director of Business Development.Â

The 2006 San Diego State alum also worked for the West Coast Conference, Auburn and the Orange Bowl Committee. Ward holds an M.S. from Miami (Fla.) in Education with an Emphasis in Sports Administration.Â
She and her husband, Mike, reside in Middle River with their children, Kailyn and Austin.Â
