Haines comes to UMBC after serving the previous year as the Assistant Pitching Coach at Marymount University. In 2025, the team achieved great success, winning the AEC conference championship and earning a spot in the NCAA Regionals. A total of eight athletes earned all-team conference honors, with five being named to the first team and three were selected for the second team. One player also received an NFCA all-regional honor.
As an experienced hitting and pitching instructor, Haines has eight-plus years of experience coaching softball at the youth, high school, and collegiate levels, with a proven track record of improving player performance and increasing team success. Expertise in hitting instruction, with a focus on proper technique, swing mechanics, and mental preparation, resulting in increased bat speed, power, and overall hitting efficiency. Specialized training in pitching instruction, including pitch selection, spin technique, and strategic pitch calling, helping pitchers develop effective game plans and outsmart opponents
Haines played softball at Stevenson University under UMBC Softball alum Julia Culotta from 2019-2023. In 2022 and 2023, she batted over .404 and .414 with total over 40+ RBI, and was named First team all-conference and NFCA third team all-region. In 2022, she helped bring the Mustangs to their first playoff appearance with a bottom of the ninth walk off home run.
Haines received a Masters Degree in Community Based and Educational Learning, is CSCS Certified and has been a certified Sports Psychologist since 2022.
