As the Club Sports Director at UMBC, Dom French oversees the Club Sports program, working with student leaders, coaches, and campus partners to provide meaningful opportunities for students to compete, develop leadership skills, and build community through sport. French manages the day-to-day operations of the program, including club administration, risk management, budgeting, travel, and event coordination, while supporting the growth and success of more than 30 student-led sport clubs.
UMBC has been a significant part of French’s life for many years. His father, Joe, served as the UMBC Softball Head Coach from 2000 to 2016, giving him the opportunity to grow up around Retriever Athletics and develop a deep appreciation for the university and its community. French attended UMBC and earned a bachelor's degree in Economics. Before stepping into his current role, French served as the Equipment Manager at the RAC, gaining valuable experience supporting campus recreation operations and facility management, and building relationships across campus. Since joining the university full-time in November 2021, French has been proud to contribute to the student experience and help create opportunities for students to connect, compete, and thrive through club sports.
