Background: Earned All-State honors in cross country in the fall of 2015, after a 13th-place finish at the MPSSAA 4A Cross Country Championships… Did not compete in 2016 championships, due to illness… Anchored Northwest’s 4 x 800 relay team to a 4A title in the winter of 2017… Helped the Jaguars to a second-place finish at the outdoor championships in the spring of 2017… Earned a certificate of Special Congressional Recognition for “Excellence in Photography” in 2016… Lists favorite food as mac-and-cheese and favorite movie as I am Legend… Considering a career as a chemistry educator… The youngest of three siblings… Has a brother, Diego, and a sister, Carolina… Diego competes in cross country/track at Virginia Tech and competed for USA at the 2016 junior nationals in Poland… Daughter of Silvina and Carlos Zarate.
