Biography

Spring 2015: Earned America East Conference Honor Roll status… Named to America East First Team in doubles… Led UMBC with seven doubles victories (7-7), including a 7-6 mark at the No. 1 slot… Combined with Mariami Dolashvili to post a 3-0 doubles mark against AE foes… Started the season with three single-match wins against Texas A&M Corpus-Christian, NJIT and Temple… Ended the season with an AE Tournament victory against Paulina Torres of Albany, 4-6, 6-1, 6-0 and also triumphed in doubles versus the Danes… Improved to 4-0 in AE Tournament doubles matches. 

 

Fall 2014: Defeated Melisaa Minniti of Penn State, 6-3, 6-2 and Wofford’s Mareli Sanchez 2-6, 7-5, 1-0 (3) in the Flight D consolation bracket at the Hokie Fall Invitational.

 

2014: Earned America East First Team doubles accolades… Won both doubles matches in the America East Championships… Shook off early spring injury to win six of eight doubles matches … Posted a three-match winning streak against West Virginia, Prairie View A&M, and Cornell.


2013: Reached double figures in singles victories with 10 on the campaign… Had a conference record of 2-1 in singles competition… Registered a key singles victory over Binghamton on “Senior Day” (6-2,7-5)… Posted an overall doubles record of 9-10… Won her doubles semifinal match against Albany, 8-4… Won three of four doubles matches in the month of April.



Background: Majoring in psychology... Captured the Margaret Court Cup in 2008… Helped her team capture the Pizzey Cup in both 2009 and 2012… Also an accomplished swimmer… Brother Dylan competes at Ventura (Calif.) College… A fan of the Harry Potter series and the movie Gladiator… Daughter of Patricia and Gregory Cleary.
