Biography

Spring 2015: Earned America East Conference Honor Roll accolades… Triumphed against Hannah Goldman of Hartford, 6-0, 6-0 and also won in doubles versus the Hawks, with teammate Alice Taylor, 6-1… Won five doubles (5-6) matches early in the season, but did not play in April due to injury.  

 

Fall 2014: Debuted with a win over Loyola’s Olivia Ott, 6-1, 6-3, combined with teammate Laura Ambrozic to defeat Towson’s duo of Ayana Dow and Cailey Easdale, 6-4, 6-4, then teamed with Alice Taylor to a doubles victory over Sarah Contrata and Kristina Eisenbrand of St. Joseph’s, 8-3 (3) in doubles at the Tiger Classic.

 

Background: Grew up in a  “tennis family” in Hilversum, the Netherlands … Serve can reach up to 112 MPH… Undecided on major… Came to the states to begin her career in the fall of 2014… Chose UMBC because of the coaching staff and its location… Has the nicknames of Charly and Lot… Listed favorite food as Italian…Favorite movies are The Sixth Sense and Déjà Vu… Has a career ambition of managing young and determined people in the wide world of sports… Has three siblings, Sophie, Olivier and Jurriaan… Daughter of Hans and Lieneke Tönjann.
