Earned entrance in Chi Sigma Alpha in spring 2023

International Competition (2022) 

• In the 2022 Egyptian National Championships, earned silvers in the 200 and 400 freestyles and a fourth-place finish in the 100 butterfly. 

2021-22

• Placed fourth in the  200 freestyle at the America East Championships

2022-23

·         Posted personal bests in the 100 freestyle (lead leg of 400 free relay) and 100 butterfly at the CSCAA National Invitational Championships

·         Won the “B’ final (9th place) in the 200 freestyle at the America East Championships

·         Earned bronze and was UMBC’s top finisher in the 200 freestyle in the meet at Towson

·         Finished second in two races (100 and 200 freestyle) in the victory at Howard

·         Placed seventh (UMBC’s top finisher) in the 200 free at the ECAC Winter Championships

·         Won both the 200 butterfly and 500 freestyle in the victory over VMI

2021-22

• Placed fourth in the  200 freestyle at the America East Championships
• Earned a seventh place finish in the 200 free at the ECAC Winter Championships
• Won the 1000 freestyle versus VMI
• Just edged for the top spot in the 200 freestyle versus Towson; also placed fourth in that meet in the 100 free
• Touched in third place in the 100 butterfly in the meet at Navy

2020-21

• Captured gold in the 200 freestyle at VMI
• A finalist in the 200 free at America East Championships, placing eighth overall
• Swam personal bests in all three sprint freestyle events in Newark

BACKGROUND: 

• Broke the Arab record in the 200 freestyle in the 2019 Casablanca Morocco Arab Championships
• Earned silvers in the 100 and 200 freestyles at the 2019 Egyptian Nationals
• Considering a major in biological sciences and interested in a career in physical therapy
• Also recruited by Colorado State, Georgia Southern and Oakland, but selected UMBC “because of the huge amount of support I found from the coaches during the recruiting process.”
• Lists her favorite movie as The Shawshank Redemption
