Biography

2016-17: Finished as a two-time finalist at the ECAC Championships… Placed second in the 100 back with a time of 55.07… Earned seventh in the 200 back, touching in with a time of 2:03.14… Took home gold in 50 back (25.44) and 100 back (55.43) at the America East Championships… Had career-highs in 50 free with a time of 23.81 and 100 free with a time of 52.29... Named to the America East Commissioner's Honor Roll.

2015-16: Set two career best marks, while also being a part of the school record breaking 200 medley relay team... She earned sixth place in the 200 back at the America East Championships with a time of 2:04.38, a new career best... She also finished seventh in the 50 free in a time of 23.96 in Worcester... Won gold in the 100 back at WPI, touching in with a career best 55.82... She rebroke that record with a fourth place finish at the ECAC Championships, touching in at 55.31... Swam the first leg of the gold medal winning 200 medley relay squad at the America East Championships, breaking the school record in a time of 1:41.26.

2014-15: Saw her season best times come during the 2015 America East Championships... Turned in a time of 24.38 in the 50 free, just missing a spot in the finals... Earned a silver medal in the 100 backstroke, touching the wall in a time of 56.74 just tenths of a second from the winner from New Hampshire... Placed sixth in the 200 backstroke, cutting four seconds from her previous best time, touching in at 2:05.81... Qualified for the ECAC Championships, where she earned an eighth place finish in the 100 back with a time of 57.72.

2013-14: Placed seventh in finals in the 100 back (57.40), eleventh in the 200 back (2:09.09), and 12th in the 50 free (24.41) at the America East Championships… Captured the eighth-fastest time in UMBC history with her finals swim in the 100 back (57.40)… Claimed her season-best 100 free time (54.90) against Howard on Jan. 11 when she finished second… Helped the 200 free relay capture the bronze medal at the America East Championships… Named to the America East Commissioner’s Honor Roll.

Background: Helped lead Kingwood HS to a second-place finish at the 2013 Texas State High School meet… Named a scholastic All-American in the 100-yd. backstroke in 2011… Named an All-American again as a senior in 2013… Part of the state champion 200 medley relay team for the Mustangs… Won the regional championship and then finished fifth in the 100 back at the 2013 state competition.

Personal: Daughter of Chris and Cindi Day… Twin sister Amanda also swims for the Retrievers… Plans to major in biology… Born May 24, 1995.
