Biography

2010-11: Helped the 200-yard medley relay place third at the America East Championships... Placed eighth in the 100 back, 10th in the 200 back and 16th in the 100 fly at the conference meet... Earned third at the Patriot Invitational as a part of the 200 medley relay... 200 medley relay time at the conference meet set a new UMBC record... 100-yard backstroke (57.21) at the Patriot Invitational ranks fifth and 200 back (2:04.31) ranks 10th in school history.

2009-10: Claimed bronze in the 100-yard backstroke and finished fifth in the 200 back and 16th in the 100-yard butterfly at the America East Championships… Part of the 200 and 400 medley relays that broke UMBC records and earned bronze and silver, respectively, at the conference meet… Swam career-best times in the 100 back (57.42), 200 back (2:06.25) and 100 fly (58.55) at the same meet… Her 100 back time is third all-time at UMBC.

2008-09: Placed 10th in the 100-yard backstroke and 13th in the 200-yard butterfly at the America East Championships… Led off the school record-setting 400 medley relay team that earned silver at the conference meet… Finished fifth in the 200 fly, 10th in the 100 back and 16th in the 100 fly at the Patriot Invitational… Highest finish was second, which she accomplished four times during the dual meet season… Swam season-best times in the 100 back (58.53) and 100 fly (59.30) at the America East Championships and in the 200 fly (2:07.83) against Towson and Maryland… Her 100 back time ranks sixth on UMBC’s all-time top-10 list.

Background: Was senior captain for Lower Cape May Regional High School in Cape May, N.J.... New Jersey state finalist in the 50 freestyle, 100 fly and 200 freestyle in 2008… Qualified for states all four years… Qualified for Junior Nationals in the 200 fly in 2007.

Personal: Daughter of Karen and Scott Moorby… Sister, Kristen, swam for UMBC and graduated in 2006… Brother, Scott, swims for Carnegie Mellon… Majoring in media and communications studies with a minor in sociology.
