Biography
2021-22
- Competed in a pair of “C” finals (100 breaststroke, 100 butterfly) at America East Championships
- Placed seventh in 200 breaststroke at ECAC Winter Championships
- Debuted by earning a fourth-place finish in the 200 breaststroke versus Delaware and Johns Hopkins
BACKGROUND
- Earned 2018 and 2021 University Interscholastic League (UIL) District Swimmer of the Meet and 2018 UIL All State Team honors
- Competed at the 2020 Speedo Sectionals at Texas A&M and set a personal record in the 200 breaststroke
- Part of Sharks’ high school squad which won three consecutive district titles
- Considering a major in economics and would like to become an attorney
- Also considered George Mason and GW, but chose UMBC “because of the competitive but welcoming team atmosphere and the drive for success within all areas of the university”
- A member of the National Honor Society and an AP scholar
- Loves ham and cheese sandwiches and is a Boston Red Sox fan
- Daughter of Ann and John Burke and the oldest of four children
- Ann lettered in swimming at Towson University
