Biography

2010-11: Placed eighth in the 200, 14th in the 1,650, and 15th in the 500-yard freestyle at the America East Championships... Won the 800 free relay and placed seventh in the 500 free at the Patriot Invitational... Time in the 200 freestyle at the conference meet ranks ninth in UMBC team history... Won the 200 free in the season-opening meet with Rider and against America East rival Boston University.

2009-10: Finished sixth in the 200-yard freestyle at the Patriot Invitational… Swam career-best times in the 100 free (52.35) at the Terrapin Cup Last Chance Meet, the 200 free (1:53.63) against Towson and Maryland and the 500 free (5:05.53) at the America East Championships… Won the 200 free in the season-opening meet against Bucknell.

2008-09: Finished 10th in the 100-yard freestyle, 12th in the 100-yard breaststroke and 14th in the 200 breast at the Patriot Invitational… Highest finish was third in the 50 free against Marist and in the 200 breast against Binghamton… Swam season-best times in the 50 free (28.54), 100 free (53.36), 100 breast (1:08.48) and 200 breast (2:32.86) at the Patriot Invitational.

Background: Swam for Thomas Wootton High School in Rockville, Md…. Named senior captain for the Patriots in 2008.

Personal: Daughter of Lisa and Dana Sippel… Has one brother, Andrew… Majoring in choral music education... Born Oct. 22, 1990.
