Accolades: (2017-18) Earned America East Fall Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll accolades and presented at UMBC’s 22nd Undergraduate Research and Creative Achievement Day... (2016-17): Inducted into National College Athlete Honor Society (Chi Alpha Sigma)… Earned America East Commissioner’s Fall Academic Honor Roll status. (2014-15) Named to the America East Commissioners' Fall Academic Honor Roll.

 

2017:  Named the Unsung Hero of the squad… Scored in all five meets for the Retrievers and led the team across the line in the season-opening Mount St. Mary’s 5k Duals… The team’s No. 2 finisher in the America East Championships.

 

2016: Competed in four meets, including the America East Championships… UMBC’s No. 5 finisher in the season-opening Mount 5K Duals.

 

2015: Ran in just two races in 2015... Opened the season at the Mount 5k Duals, crossing the tape in 22:03... Competed in the Gettysburg Invitational, finishing the race in a time of 24:21.

 

2014: Competed in two meets during her freshman season... Earned a 58th place finish at the Mount 5K Duals with a time of 20:23... She finished with a time of 26:09 at the Salty Dog Invitational. 

 

Background: Named to the All Southern Maryland Athletic Conference First Team her sophomore through senior seasons… Named SMAC Runner of the Year her sophomore campaign… Helped lead her team to a Maryland 2A Cross Country State Championship… Earned High Honors, and was a member of the National Honor Society in high school. 

 

Personal: Daughter of Katherine and Richard Mattson… Has one brother, Michael.
