Biography

Ranks among the top five Retrievers in school history in the single-season records of hits, batting average, runs scored, doubles, triples, extra-base hits, RBI’s, games played, and at-bats... Is on pace to take over the number one spot in the UMBC career records for hits, batting average, at-bats, doubles, triples, extra-base hits, and games played... Will take over the shortstop position vacated by Deanna Vecchio.

“She not only had a great season for us, but she showed the whole country that she could play with any outfielder in the nation,” French said. “This year, our opponents will find out that she is not only one of the premier shortstops in the Mid-Atlantic, but one of the best players to play for a Mid-Atlantic school. As good as she is a player, she is even better as a person.”

2002- Earned All-Conference honors for the third year in a row as she was selected to the NEC First Team... Was also the MVP for the NEC Tournament, as she drove in four of the six runs scored by UMBC... Became the first UMBC softball player to receive First Team All-ECAC honors... Also garnered First Team All-NFCA and NCAA All-Region (Mid-Atlantic) awards... Had a 29-game hitting streak, the longest in both UMBC and NEC history... Also broke the school and conference records for most hits in a season with 90... Was tied with teammate Bonnie Nevin with a school-record 68 games started in a single season... Ranked 37th in the country last year in batting average (.396) and 7th in triples (9).

2001- Led the team with 51 hits and 14 doubles. She also finished the year with 31 RBI’s and 32 runs scored, earning her First Team All NEC honors.

1999- started in all 58 games and stole 17 bases, good for third in the NEC, and earning her a spot on the Second Team All Conference list.
