Biography

2020 Indoor: Did not compete during the indoor season.

2019 Indoor: Competed solely in the weight throw during the winter season with his best toss coming at 15.78m at the Penn State Tune-Up.

2019 Outdoor: Competed in the discus and hammer throw during the outdoor season… Both of his season-high marks came at the Bucknell Team Challenge with throws of 43.76m and 46.13m respectively. 

2018 Indoor: Competed in a pair of throwing events for the Retrievers… Had his career best throw in the shot put at the Penn State Tune-Up with a throw of 11.73m before posting a career best in the weight throw at the America East Championships (16.09m).

2018 Outdoor: Did not compete during the outdoor season.

2016-17 Indoor: Competed in the weight throw… Set a career mark in the weight throw with a 14.43m mark at the Bucknell Tri Meet.

2017 Outdoor: Competed in the hammer throw and discus throw… Set his career best with a 47.26m mark in the hammer throw at the George Mason Spring Invitational… Earned a mark of 39.06m in the discus throw to set a career best at the 2017 Colonial Relays.

Background: Competed in both indoor and outdoor track and field as well as football and wrestling for Chesapeake High School … Was named Athlete of the Month, as well as earning the Sportsmanship Award two years ago… On the gridiron, he earned Lineman of the Year honors as a junior while being named to the Capital Gazette All-County Team.

Personal: Son of Christine and Joe Parkent… Has two siblings, Nick and Christine… Chose UMBC over West Virginia, Loyola and Towson… Plans on majoring in mechanical engineering… Lists favorite pro team as the Baltimore Ravens.
