Biography

2015 Outdoor: Competed in the 200m and 400m dashes for the Retrievers in the spring... Had his best time in the 200m dash at the America East Championships, running a 22.28 in the prelims... Set a season best in the 400m dash at the Morgan State Legacy meet with a time of 49.63.

2014-15 Indoor: Ran in the 200m, 400m and 500m dashes for the Retrievers in the winter... Set a personal best in the 200m dash at the Terrapin Invitational with a time of 23.03... Set a new career best in the 400m dash at the Sykes & Sabock Challenge, finishing the event in a time of 50.63... Ran a 1:04.94 in the preliminaries of the 500m dash at the America East Championships... Would end up with a seventh place finish in the event with a time of 1:05.90.

2014 Outdoor: Competed in the 400m dash at the Big Dawg Invitational on his home track at UMBC Stadium… Finished seventh with a time of 52.18.

2013-14 Indoor: Ran in the 400m and 500m events during winter season for the Retrievers… Placed 19th in the 400m competition at the 2014 America East Indoor Track and Field Championships… Recorded a top 400m time of 50.71 at the NYU Team Challenge, while his top 500m time of 1:07.06 came at the Penn State Relays.

Background: Named Blake High’s Most Outstanding Athlete and Most Valuable Player for the 2012-13 season… Helped the Bengals achieve a second-place finish in the 4x400 relay at the Maryland State Championships… Also lettered in soccer.

Personal: Son of DeAnna Gilliam… Has two sisters, Chloe and Grace, and two brothers, Joseph and Joshua… Plans to major in math… Born May 3, 1997.
