Tyron Logan joined the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) Track and Field coaching staff in March 2022 and immediately helped elevate the program’s competitive success. During his first season with the Retrievers, Logan played a key role in the development of freshman standout Caitlyn Bobb, who earned a 16th-place finish at the NCAA Championships, a significant milestone for both the athlete and the program.
Since arriving at UMBC, Logan has helped athletes achieve more than 50 all-time top-10 performances while contributing to the establishment of 18 school records. His ability to develop talent across multiple event groups has made an immediate and lasting impact on the program’s growth and competitive standing.
Prior to UMBC, Logan spent nine seasons as Head Track and Field Coach of Elite Performance Track Club in Pontiac, Michigan. During his tenure, he coached and mentored several elite athletes, including Anna Cockrell and Grace Stark. Both athletes captured NCAA championships in the 100-meter hurdles and went on to compete at the 2024 Summer Olympics, highlighting Logan’s proven ability to guide athletes from youth and collegiate competition to the sport’s highest levels.
Recognized for his athlete-centered approach, technical expertise, and commitment to excellence, Logan continues to develop high-performing student-athletes while fostering a culture of achievement both on and off the track.
