Biography

2020 Indoor: Had a breakout year during the 2020 indoor season… Set a pair of career-best marks at the America East Championships in the 3,000m and 5,000m… Finished the 3,000m in a time of 8:53.42 and the 5,000m in a time of 15:02.94.

2019 Indoor: Competed in the 3,000m and 5,000m runs during the indoor season… Ran a career-best time in the 3,000m at the Penn State Tune-Up in a time of 8:54.52… Also had a career mark in the 5,000m at the America East Championships with a time of 15:15.84.

2019 Outdoor:
Only ran in the 5,000m during the outdoor season, finishing the George Mason Spring Invitational with a personal best time of 15:35.67.

2018 Indoor: Competed in distance events for the Retrievers during the indoor season… Ran a season best 8:57.86 in the 3,000m at the NYC Gotham Cup, following that with a season best time of 15:41.24 in the 5,000m at the Sykes & Sabock Challenge.

2018 Outdoor: Ran mostly in the 3,000m and 10,000m runs during the outdoor season… At the Sam Howell Invite, he ran a season best 32:39.94 in the 10,000m run… Followed that up a week later in the 3,000m at the Bucknell Team Challenge, finishing in 8:59.22.

2016-17 Indoor: Did not compete.

2017 Outdoor: Did not compete.

Background: The 2015 MPSSAA 2A state cross country champion… Earned Carroll County Times Boys’ Cross Country Runner of the Year honors… Also captured the 2A state title in the 3200 meters in the spring of 2016…  A member of the National Honor Society and an AP Scholar with Distinction… Considering a major in mechanical engineering… Lists favorite food as shrimp and favorite professional sports team as MLB’s Baltimore Orioles… Plays guitar and piano… Has a younger brother, Jason… Son of Katie and Steve Cave.
