2016-17:  Competed in the 50 free, 200 breast, 100 breast, and 200 IM in the CCSA Championships… Earned fifth place in the 50 free with a time of 26.16… Finished the 200 breast in 2:09.37… The 100 breast with a time of 57.14… Completed the 200 IM in a time of at 1:59.19.

2015-16: Mercer had his best swims of the season at the CCSA Championships this past February in the 100 and 200 breast and 200 IM events... Finished the 100 breast with a time of 56.23, while touching in the 200 breast with a time of 2:06.58, both lifetime bests... Also set a career best with a time of 1:58.97 in the 200 IM... CCSA All-Academic Team.

2014-15: Competed as an exhibition swimmer fot the Retrievers... Swam his best times at the 2015 CCSA Championships at the University of Georgia... Went 2:00.85 in the 200 IM... He swam in both breaststroke disciplines at the championships, touching the wall in a time of 57.48 in the 100 and 2:07.87 in the 200 breaststroke.

2013-14: Posted season-best times in the 100- (58.27) and 200-yd. breaststroke (2:08.70) events, as well as the 200-yd. IM (2:01.58), while competing as an exhibition swimmer at the 2014 CCSA Championships… Achieved his best dual meet finish of fifth-place three times during the season.

Background: Took first in the 100 breast at the Catholic Nationals with a time of 58.65… Set the Country Club Swimming and Diving Association (CCSDA) record for the 50 breast in 2011… Recorded a Junior Nationals qualifying time for the 50 breast during the 2012-13 season, finishing 29th … Helped set the metro record for the 200 medley relay.

Personal:  Son of Duke and Sandy Mercer… Has one older sister, Michelle, and two older brothers, Steven and Vincent… His mother played collegiate softball while Michelle and Steven both swam collegiately… Undecided in his major… Born May 23, 1995.
