2019-20:

• Served as a team captain in his senior season
• Posted the fifth-best finals time and set a personal best at 2:04.21 in the 200 breaststroke at the 2020 America East Championships
• Recorded the ninth top-time in the 100 butterfly at the league championships
• Placed fifth in both breaststroke events on Senior Day vs. ECU
• Took fourth and fifth place respectively in 100 and 200 breaststroke events at Towson

2018-19:

• Two-time finalist at the America East Championships.
• Earned bronze in the 100 fly with a time of 50.31 and seventh in the 200 breast with a time of 58.66, both personal bests.
• Also finished ninth in the 200 breast in a time of 2:06.85.
• At the Patriot Invitational, finished 20th in the 200 breast (2:12.93).
• Placed seventh in the 100 breast against Towson and William and Mary.
• At Navy, finished seventh in both the 100 and 200 breast.

2017-18: Posted personal-bests in three events at the America East Championships… Touched in with a time of 51.89 in the 100 fly… In the 200 breast, clocked in with a time of 2:09.85… Finished the 200 IM in a time of 1:55.07.

2016-17:  Competed in the CCSA Championships in the 100 fly, 200 fly, 100 breast, and the 200 IM… He completed season bests with 53.15, 1:56.27,1:00.35, and 1:57.50 in those events respectively.

Background: Earned Green Hope High School Men’s Swimming and Diving Spirit Award in his junior year and the Coaches Award in his senior year. Was a state championships qualifier for two years, while also helping his team win the East Regional Championships.In high school he was a leader for Green Hope’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA).

Personal: Son of Joy and Robert Ssengonzi… Has three siblings; Rebecca, Jesse, and Rachel… Majoring in mechanical engineering… Lists favorite food as gummy bears and favorite pro team as Arsenal FC, while also enjoying composing music.
