Biography

Accolades: (2017-18) Served as president of UMBC Student-Athlete Advisory Council (2016-17) Earned America East Honor Roll status.

 

2017: Did not compete in any meets during the campaign.

 

2016: Competed in four of five meets, including one of nine to enter at America East Championships… Posted his best 8k time at the Paul Short Invitational, completing the course in 26:32.00. 

 

2015: Competed in all but one race for the Retrievers... Started off the year at the Mount 5K Duals, finishing the race in a time of 17:14... Had his best performance at the the Gettysburg Invitational, crossing the tape in a time of 26:52, a career best on an 8k course. 

 

2014: Competed in three races for UMBC... Had his best finish at the Mount 5k Duals in the season opener, finishing in 21st with a time of 16:12... Ran his best 8k course at the Navy Invite, finishing 62nd in 27:45... Named to the America East Commissioners' Honor Roll.

 

Background: Named to the All-Freshman County team as a member of the Richard Montgomery High School Cross Country team… In addition to cross country, Alexander was named to the All-Freshman team for track and field… Was a two time state champion in the 4x800m, while also earning a second place finish in the 4A West Indoor Championships a year ago… Was the editor for his high school newspaper. 

 

Personal: Son of Margaret and Pete Alexander… Has one sister, Karen.
