Accolades: (2017-18) Earned America East Fall Academic Honor Roll accolades. (2016-17) Earned America East Fall Academic Honor Roll status.

2019: Raced in three events for the Retrievers... Completed the America East Championships in a season-best 26:34.45.

2018: Did not compete. 

2017: Lined up in all six meets and scored in four of those competitions, including the last three and two post-season races… UMBC’s No. 4 finisher at the America East Championships.

2016: Debuted by leading UMBC across the tape in the Mount 5k Duals… Placed fifth overall in Emmitsburg, completing the race in 15.46.2… UMBC’s No. 2 finisher at Paul Short Invitational, posting his best 8k time of the season at 25:35… Did not run at Princeton, but did see action at the America East Championships.

Background: Captured the 2015 Maryland 3A state cross country title in a photo finish… Earned Washington Post All-Metro First Team honors… A four-time Southern Maryland Athletic Conference Most Valuable award winner… Earned 2012 Northern High School cross country Rookie of the Year honors and was the team’s MVP for all three running seasons as a junior and a senior… His Patriots’ squads won four straight regional titles and three consecutive conference championships… Briefly competed in high school baseball before dedicating himself solely to track and field… An AP Scholar with distinction… President of the Young Democrats at Northern… Considering a major in mathematics… Lists favorite movie as Forrest Gump and enjoys table tennis and Frisbee… Has older siblings, Rachel and Jason… Jason played varsity soccer at Frostburg… Son of Clare and John Bennett.
