Biography

2022-23

  • A finalist in the 1650 freestyle at the America East Championships
  • Placed third in the 1000 free in the victory at Howard University
  • Posted two second place efforts in the 200 and 500 freestyle events vs. VMI

2021-22:

  • Competed in 200, 500 and 1650 freestyle events at America East Championships
  • Placed fourth in 500 and 1000 freestyle events at Seton Hall 
  • Placed fifth in 1650 freestyle at ECAC Winter Championships
  • Picked up valuable points for the Retrievers with a third and a fourth place finish in 500 and 100 freestyle events vs. Towson

2020-21:

  • Competed at VMI and placed fourth in the 100 freestyle and fifth in the 200 free

2019-20:

  • Earned a sixth-place finish in the 1650 freestyle at the 2020 America East Championships
  • Also swam the 200 and 500 freestyle events in Worcester and placed 12th in the 500
  • Finished fourth in the 1000 freestyle in UMBC’s dual meet victory over George Mason

BACKGROUND:

·         Earned the 2016 Gilmour Academy Coaches Award

·         Earned the 2019 Gilmour Academy Lancer Award

·         Helped her team place sixth in their Division II state championship meet

·         Made Honor Roll all four years of high school

 PERSONAL:

·         Daughter of Margaret and Paul Koerwitz

·         Has three siblings, Abigail, Bridget, and Paul

·         Considering majors in economics and sociology with a pre-occupational therapy track

·         A fan of stir fry, Khalid, and the movie Beauty and the Beast
