2008: Played in 10 games for the Retrievers and made six starts… Posted an 11.81 goals-against average, allowing 77 goals in 391:19 of playing time… Recorded 67 saves for a .465 save percentage… Posted a won-lost record of 2-4, with wins against Loyola and Binghamton… Recorded a season-high 15 saves in the win over the Greyhounds… Also tallied double-digit saves against Delaware (13) and Vanderbilt (10)… Picked up seven ground balls on the season… Ranked third in the America East in save percentage, fourth in GAA and seventh in saves per game (6.70)… Earned recognition on the America East Academic Honor Roll.

2007: Played in 16 games for the Retrievers, starting 11… Posted a 12.33 goals-against average, allowing 116 in 564:42 of playing time… Recorded 99 saves for a .460 save percentage… Posted a won-lost record of 3-7, with wins against Howard, Bucknell and American… Recorded a season-high 12 saves against Boston University… Also tallied 11 saves twice – at Loyola and against Old Dominion… Picked up 18 ground balls on the season and caused six turnovers… Recorded a season-high four ground balls on three occasions… Ranked sixth in the America East in save percentage and eighth in saves per game (6.19)… Named to the America East Academic Honor Roll.

2006: Named to the America East All-Rookie Team… Played in 18 games for the Retrievers, starting 17… Posted a 10.42 goals-against average, allowing 162 goals in 933:01 of playing time… Recorded 148 saves for a .477 save percentage… Posted a won-lost record of 9-7… Was named America East Defender of the Week twice… Earned the award for the first time after recording 13 saves, including nine in the first half, in UMBC’s upset victory over Boston University… Earned the award for the second time after recording nine saves against seven goals in UMBC’s victory over America East rival Binghamton… Stopped 12 shots in an 8-6 loss to No. 14 Loyola… Recorded 16 saves in a 12-9 victory over Delaware… Posted 17 saves, including 12 in the first half, in a 14-12 loss to No. 11 William and Mary… Ranked fourth in the conference in saves per game (8.22) and sixth in goals-against average and save percentage… Also ranked sixth in the conference in goals-against average in America East contests (9.99), fifth in save percentage in league outings (.461) and third in saves per conference games (7.83).

Background: Was a first-team selection by The Daily Record from 2002-04… Named team MVP in 2003 and 2005… Earned the Lacrosse Metro Scholarship for leadership… Was an Athlete of the Week all four years at Madison… Also lettered in swimming and cross country in high school… Was a member of the Metro Magic Lacrosse Club, the Elite Swim Club and the Peer Development Program… Daughter of Mark and Sue Sweeney… Her mother played field hockey at Kent State and her father played lacrosse at West Chester… Has a younger sister, Shannon… Born May 12, 1987… A double major in American studies, as well as communications and media studies.
