Fall 2014: Combined with Eliott Loubatie to cruise past Delaware’s Matt Renzi/Shane Jaffray, 8-2, at the No. 2 doubles position, then outlasted Tim Puterio, 7-5, 6-4 and Navy’s Alex Gaines 4-6, 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 4 singles slot while competing at the Navy Invitational.
2014: Strung together a three-match winning streak against Morgan State, James Madison and Bucknell… Clinched match against Morgan State with a 6-3, 6-2 victory… Posted a victory at No. 6 singles in the America East semifinals…. Recorded 16 match victories, eight in singles and eight in doubles.
2013: Posted an overall singles record of 12-12, including a 2-1 singles record when facing conference competition… Clinched the Retrievers’ America East semifinal singles victory over Stony Brook University, where he came back from a first set loss to win the match (3-6,6-4,6-3).
2012: Earned America East Second Team honors in doubles last year with outgoing senior Joe Adewumi… Adewumi and Patel formed a tandem in early April and went 4-1, including a critical win over Stony Brook at No. 3 doubles in the America East semifinals… Also won at No. 6 his singles to help UMBC reach the title match… Finished second on the team with 24 total victories in his initial campaign.
